We explain every route in plain English, give you free calculators to model each one against your own electricity bill, and set out the grants and capital allowances that quietly change the sums. The aim is that you reach an installer or funder already knowing what you want and why, not being sold whichever option they happen to favour.
Education first, sales later
This site leads with the decision, not a pitch. We are deliberately the place you work out the money question on your own terms: what each route costs your business each month, whether you own the asset, who claims the tax relief, and when it pays back. Because we are not tied to one funder or one finance product, the buy-outright case is put as honestly as the PPA case, and we will say plainly when a lease is a false economy, when a PPA returns least over its life, or when a route costs more long-term even though it looks cheaper on day one. Only once you understand your options do we point you onward to get real, costed numbers.
Straight on tax
We take the tax detail seriously because getting it wrong costs businesses money. Solar PV is special-rate plant, so it does not qualify for the headline 100% full expensing, a point a surprising number of solar sites get wrong. What it does qualify for is the Annual Investment Allowance, giving 100% first-year relief on the whole cost of most installs, and the 50% special-rate first-year allowance above the £1m cap. None of what we publish is financial or tax advice, and we always recommend confirming your position with your accountant, but we make sure the starting point is correct rather than the marketing version.
